KSP 1.05 Gas & Diesel Delivery Policy

PURPOSE: To eliminate the accidental mixing of customer gas and diesel product during delivery, avoid costly damage to customers’ vehicles, and avoid monetary loss to Reliable Tank Line.

IMPORTANT:
Any delivery locations that are exempted from the "diesel first" procedure below will be communicated to you by your terminal manager, otherwise, the procedure is always as follows:

PROCEDURE:

  1. Document on trip ticket which compartments contain diesel fuel and type.
  2. Set product dials and attach clip-on chain indicators and/or colored seals to each compartment containing diesel fuel prior to loading. Clip on indicators and/or colored seals are MANDATORY and NO EXCEPTIONS. Each terminal has these on site.
  3. When you arrive at site, you are to leave the product dial indicators on that compartment set until that compartment is completely empty. Once empty, cap the nose cone and remove the chain indicators and/or colored seals.
  4. Once the diesel delivery is complete, close all valves, belly valves and loading head valves. Drain hose, remove drop fitting and stick the tank. Replace the tube cap and access lid.
  5. In the event you have a location where you must vent the diesel tank AT THE GROUND, you must hook up a vapor hose from the vapor recovery fitting to the vapor recovery on the trailer. NO EXCEPTIONS. This is to contain possible spills from overfilling the tank.
  6. At no time are you allowed to lift ANY lid to a gas drop while delivering diesel. This includes any vapor recovery, monitoring well, and product lid. You are never allowed to stick gas tanks, connect vapor recovery hoses or fittings for gas to the ground or tanker until the diesel is finished.
  7. Not following this procedure carries the following penalties, in addition to being sent home the rest of the work shift:

1st Violation: 1-day suspension and $1,000 deduction from current period DSB Payout.
2nd Violation: 3-day suspension and loss of current period DSB Payout.
